Chuck Dukowski is selling some of his record collection on Ebay and this sealed copy of Nervous Breakdown sold for a staggering $4200!!

Okay, so it’s sealed, that’s nice, but the same thing happened with Jeff Nelson’s stuff, because it was band owned the prices went sky high. Personally, I’m surprised people care who previously owned it. I wouldn’t!

As this record generally sells for about $400, how can it be worth 10x as much? Someone has lost control of their senses!!

Finally, all 331 grunge items in the database have images added to them. The section is looking good!

The website has been updated with over 600 new items, which equates to over 10% of the stock having been changed.

This weekend, Saturday 6th March it’s Exeter Record & CD Fair and as always it’s at the Corn Exchange (St. George’s Hall). Doors open at 10am and admission is £1.00.

I’m dismayed and disgusted to hear that BBC6 Music is to be closed.

Radio 1 just plays kiddie music these days, since Peel died and Lamacq moved on it’s not been worth listening to, Radio 2 is just too conservative, BBC Radio Newcastle plays nothing but oldies, therefore BBC 6 Music became my station of choice.

To close it will be devastating for the music industry. It’s the station that introduces and supports many excellent new bands that progress to major commercial success e.g. Florence and the Machine, but just as importantly it gives exposure to new artists that make innovative music like the excellent Emily Portman whose murder ballads session was very enjoyable on the latest Tom Robinson show.

The station epitomises what public service broadcasting should be all about.

The latest newsletter is winging its way to subsribers, at least those that don’t have it caught by the spam filters. It’s the largest one i’ve sent, over 700 new items.

Recently acquired a collection of foreign Stranglers LPs. Unfortuantely most are later albums but there are a few earlier ones. I know there’s a few completists out there that like their Greek etc. pressings, so hopefully a few gaps will be filled in a few collections.
