Leeds Record Fair is back, this Saturday 19th May at the Queen’s Hotel, beside the railway station.

Admission £2 / £1 seniors & students..

The fair is fully booked again with a smattering of new dealers as well.

Don’t forget Leeds has 3 good independent shops which makes visiting Leeds on Big Fair day a good option for music fans..Jumbo ( Good spread of new vinyl ), Crash ( Rock/Metal/Indie new vinyl and cd’s ) ..Relics ( 2nd hand vinyl ).

So good does it promise to be, that I’m travelling from Newcastle to attend, so if anyone would like anything brought for them they can save the P&P. Just get in touch.

I’m very sad to report that on March 21st 2012 that Paul Gilbert guitartist with the wonderful 1977 punk band The Jerks has passed away aged 51 after suffering from haemochromatosis.

Paul was a founder member, main songwriter who wrote their wonderful ‘Get Your Woofing Dog Off Me’. He also provided the sleeve notes to their two reissues on Overground Records the live album ‘We Hate You’ and the fantastic album of all their studio recordings ‘Jerk Off’.

The band’s version of ‘California Sun’ recently appeared in the Sundance Festival award winning documentary ‘Shut Up Little Man’. A fitting tribute to a wondrous talent and a lovely person.

Great gig coming up in Newcastle on Saturday 5th May at the O2 Academy. It’s a rare appearance these days by The Exploited with support from Crashed Out, Gimp Fist, The Fiend and Cryo-Genics.

Tickets are a just £15 and the gig is finished by 10pm so you can all get home no bother afterwards. So no excuses, pop over to Gigbox and get yourself some tickets.
